Sony have surpassed the 30 million sold Playstation 4 consoles.
On Wednesday Sony made an announcement that over 30 million PS4 have been sold over the world. They did not say if those were the amount of consoles in homes or just the total that have been shipped. Nevertheless, that is a remarkable amount. In March, they had sold 20.2 million consoles and predict that they will sell a further 17.5 million units between now and the end of March 2016. At this rate, I don’t doubt their expectations.

Microsoft have not announced any sales figures but from third party game sales, they indicate that for every one Xbox game sold, there are two PlayStation games sold. If it were straight forward, we could estimate that around 15 to 17 million Xbox Ones have sold. One could say Microsoft is getting dominated.
I’m not sure if they can bring it back next year, they might be playing catch up for some time. Whilst it is a strong year for Xbox in 2016 with Gears of War, Quantum Break, Crackdown 3 and Killer Instinct Season 3 etc, Sony have a very good line up to. Uncharted 4, The Last Guardian and No Man’s Sky PLUS Playstation VR.
Hopefully Sony will announce something huge to celebrate this milestone at PSX in December – the rumour is that we are apparently going to be able to change our names. *Fingers Crossed*
