Oculus Rift Price Revealed

The much awaited Oculus Rift is now available to pre-order – for a large price

You can pre-order the Oculus Rift for $599 and expect to get it after the 28th of March. The Rift will be shipped to “20 countries“. Plus it will also be available a certain retailer in April.

When you get your Oculus, you actually get a fair amount in the box. The Oculus has built in headphones but you also get a microphone, sensor and an Xbox One controller.newblog1.2

Sadly it appears that you will need a fairly hefty PC to run it. I am not a tech person but from the specifications that Oculus recommends you have,  it is seems like it could cost you a bit of money.

Video Card NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD R9 290 equivalent or greater

Cpu Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater

Memory 8GB + RAM

Video Output Compatible HDMI 1.3 video output

USB Ports 3x USB 3.0 ports plus 1x USB 2.0 port

OS Windows 7 SP1 64 bit or newer

To make things easier for customers, you can purchase a PC that is oculus ready. Starting at $1499. These are available to pre-order in February. There are bundles available for the Rift. You can buy the Oculus ready PC and Oculus bundle,  you will get it “at the special bundle price”
For those who have beast computers, you can get the EVE: Valkyrie and Lucky’s Tale bundle. Oculus state that there will be “more that 100 titles available by end of 2016, including Minecraft!”
